This Friday, I pulled out a special dress to celebrate a very special day. I had this velvet burnout caftan by American Gold hanging in the closet for a while now, but never had a worthy enough reason to debut it until this weekend for Shane's birthday! As I blogged
before, I love velvet burnout. Shane does not. While I gleam with pride over the blousy fit and "grandma's curtain" fringe hem, Shane shakes his head in disapproving silence. Yet, he still eagerly takes pictures of me in this controversially unsexy caftan for my blog. I thank my lucky stars that he tolerates and supports my unusual fashion choices. And I thank them even more for this day, September 18th, the day the love of my life was born.

Also, debuting new wedges by Jeffrey Campbell. My new favorite of the moment.
We had dinner with the Dangs at Shane's favorite restaurant, Gaku.

Below, the birthday wish that didn't come true this year. Sorry babe, maybe next year. Or the year after. Or probably the year after that one. Maybe.
Love this headband, but it's so tight it gave me a bruise on my forehead. What's a little pain for the sake of fashion, right?

tunic (american gold), shoes (jeffrey campbell), headband (bsky), bangles (acid dolls), purse (cloth)
