Mirror Mirror

I've always loved the metallic trends from seasons past and this go round is no exception. This summer  metallics are literally like mirrors!  I've had my eye this and this from Zara for a while so I was overjoyed when I found this clutch for the shop on my last buying trip! Can't believe there's still one left, people! Where you at? Anyway I'm sure the last one will go home with one lucky gal, especially because it's now 20% off for our spring cleaning sale. BTW, if any of you are wondering what's going on with the mega sale, don't worry, we're NOT CLOSING! I'm just ready for some refreshing change and I'm excited for you to see what we have in store!

We're better when we're together

Neysa came home for a quickie visit!!! Woot woot.  Which was the perfect reason to escape mommy duties twice in one week. First, we celebrated her belated birthday at Salt in Kaimuki (minus Linh, boo).  Holy shaaat, the food was crazy D.E.L.I.C.I.O.U.S. As a matter of fact, I'm currently drooling as I recall my first taste of the brown butter gnocchi.  I'm normally not into these pretentious tapas-type places, but I'll turn a blind eye if the food is as memorable as this place. I recommend trying everything we ordered. You will not be disappointed. [My] overall rating for this joint is a 10 for food, 7 for ambiance and 5 for service. It's not that the service was terrible, but I think the flavors speak so much for itself that it doesn't need overly attentive servers trying to make up for any slack in the food department.  Oh and thanks to Shauna, it turned into one of those silly prop nights. Leave it to us to make a mockery of pretension.
1. Roasted Local Beet Salad
2. Smoked Ahi Stuffed Piquillos
3. Oxtail Empanadas
4. Confit Pork Belly Sandwich
5. Steamed Mussels
6. Hook, Line and Sinker
7. Steamed Duck Breast
8. Brown Butter Gnocchi

Then a few nights later we headed to DASH for some old school shits and giggles. I was super glad to be with ALL my girls, but was quickly reminded of how old I was when I became annoyed that I had to yell over the totally-normal-for-a-sports-pub decibels and when I kept yawning at 11pm.  I wasn't yawing because I was bored by any means, it's just that I'm normally in PJ's and playing on my computer in bed by 9pm.  You can also tell that these meet-ups are rare because….why are we so dressed up for a gastropub???  When we walked in, I kind of felt a little bit ridiculous, but at least we were all dressed up with someplace to go.  Anyway, I love us! We're totally better when we're together.  Come home again soon Neys (like for Willow's 1st b-day if you can!!!!!)
at Salt: blouse (kova and T) necklace (bamboo sky)

So hot, no I mean literally.

jacket (zara) tank  (f21) shorts (bamboo sky) shoes (aldo) knuckle rings (made by me, bamboo sky) earrings (vintage)

What'd I tell ya 'bout these stilletos?  Never took them off since Saturday (true story)! Anyway, I wore this to my friend's baby's 1st birthday party at the Waialae Country Club on Sunday.  While the weather appears pleasantly blue and crisp, it's actually been dreadfully humid.  Hence the top knot bun.  I have an excessively thick, long mane of black hair that becomes a wool blanket on my neck when we lose our trade winds. So I wisely decided to sweep it into a no-fuss bun.  The poly satin jacket on the other hand??? Not so wise. I thought I would be ok in the air conditioned banquet hall, but humidity creeps in no matter what here in Hawaii.  As I toted Willow around, I tried my hardest to not look a "hot" mess. Kind of felt like the green witch from "The Wizard of Oz"… I'm meeelllting, I'm meeellllting!

BTW, the heart knuckle ring is hand made by moi! And the chevron one too! The chevron is actually supposed to be a knuckle ring, but I have freakishly thin fingers so it fits like a regular ring.  It's also reversible. The other side (of the chevron only) is an eternity knot, so you can wear it either way.  I've recently added star knuckle rings too and they're all available at bamboo sky for only $10 (heart) or $15 (star & chevron).  Unlike the name necklaces I make, these are not custom order.  I've made a variety of sizes for stock so you just have to come in and try different ones on!

Gaaahhh! These are my new lavahs.  Do you like? Do you like?  Just a few weeks ago, as I was styling for our new arrivals shoot, I said aloud "Right about now, I could really use a pair of white pointy toe pumps." I imagined the perfect stiletto with sexy toe cleavage and a nearly pin thin heel.  I wanted to style it with all of the dusty lavenders and blacks that I had just brought back.  Plus, I've been in the mood for black & white lately.  On my tumblr, I reblogged a lot of black/white/gray outfit inspirations.

So anyway, as my mom and I were birthday gift shopping this Saturday, like a hawk, I spotted these from across the mall.  It was like heaven cast it's glorious rays upon them, lighting the way for me.  These were much better than the ones I dreamed up myself… For I did not think of whipstitching (orgasm), a contrasting heel cup (orgasm) and black ankle strap (orgasm)! Oh Aldo, you done did good this time! Real good.

Needless to say… they're mines!!! And now I were them to bed.
